Privacy Policy
Darker Tides is built to respect your privacy completely. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information.
Information we collect
None. Darker Tides has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There are no servers that receive information about you, because the app makes no network requests for your data.
Information stored on your device
Your chosen port and display preferences (such as 12- or 24-hour time) are saved locally on your device so the app and its Home Screen widget can remember them. This information never leaves your device and is removed if you delete the app.
Tide data
All tide predictions are bundled with the app and read locally. They are sourced from Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). The attribution is shown within the app.
Children’s privacy
Darker Tides does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date shown above.
